Menorca the Jewel of the Mediterran

A S'Algar Experience

We have concentrated for 30 years on arranging holidays to just one small, but beautiful, Mediterranean Island called Menorca.

For every ten visitors to neighbouring Majorca, only one visits Menorca. Visitors are welcomed by people dependent on tourism for their livelihood, there are more coves and beaches than on Majorca and Ibiza combined. Some of Europe's loveliest beaches, renowned for their golden sands fringing the turquoise sea, gives a welcome as warm as the Mediterranean summer sunshine.

The island is only thirty-five miles long and twelve miles wide, making easy sightseeing on roads, which are a motorists delight. Menorca has many attractions beside its beaches like the beautiful church on top of Monte Toro, the islands highest point offering spectacular views over the whole island. Linger over a cold drink and watch the world from so high. Inland towns such as Alaior, Mercadal and Ferreries each have their own unspoiled charm. Take time to shop for local goods, ceramics, Lladro and enjoy the local gin and Mahon cheese.

For the sports minded Menorca offers golf, tennis, bowls, go-karting, horse riding and even cricket. A wide range of water sports including diving on and under the clear Mediterranean Sea. Many people fall in love with the island and return year after year to enjoy the peace, tranquillity, friendliness and hospitality of this 'Jewel in the Mediterranean.’
